We are working with local law enforcement officials to keep track of individuals who have been arrested for soliciting a prostitute or for prostitution in the Lyell Avenue area. Below is a summary of recent campaign success:
July
2009 - Reginald Johnson sentenced to 90 days in the Monroe County Jail
with a $200 court surcharge. Johnson
was convicted of a misdemeanor for patronizing a prostitute in the third
degree.
June
19, 2009 - Frank Vicaretti sentenced
to a 1-year conditional discharge and $200 surcharge. He was convicted
of a misdemeanor for patronizing a prostitute in the third degree, the
first such local conviction in 20 years.
October 23, 2008 - 11 “johns” were arrested for violating Section 230 of the Penal Code (soliciting a prostitute). Five were residents of the City of Rochester and the other six reside outside the City (1 from Niagara Falls).
October 22, 2008 – Eight women were arrested for prostitution.
